The English Babies Movie is a fluff piece short film made to help new parents learn if their infant is talking. It features a day in the life of an American family with one child who speaks English and one who speaks Spanish. The movie was created through a Kickstarter campaign and has been seen by over 500,000 people so far. Eldar and the director of the film, Stefan Kumičić, created a Kickstarter campaign and raised $28,473 on June 23, 2013 to help fund production of "The English Babies Movie". The movie was released for free on Feb 13, 2014 on Vimeo. Fans of the film helped to raise $821,786 on August 19, 2014 for actress Ellen Page to star as Janet in the sequel called "The Spanish Babies Movie". In October 2017 an entire book called "English Babies" was published about the filming. It features background stories from those who were there as well as those who weren't. The movie is gaining media attention and covers a range of demographic groups. One of the early reviews was from an 8 year-old girl named G.A.G. who was quoted as saying “The trailer has me bugging my mom to let me watch this over and over again because it’s so funny!” Other reviews came from the United States, although the majority came from Spain - where the film is most popular – age range 13 to 19 years old with 96% approval rating on Vimeo. The film is being supported by a sequel called "The Spanish Babies Movie" featuring Ellen Page. The sequel was crowdfunded with a goal of $81,000 and is set to be released on August 19, 2015.
